TO DO

1) Mitten Fest 2017 (all ages)
Saturday 02/04: Burnhearts Bar (Bay View); 12pm – 8pm (free)

Milwaukee’s most booze-filled outdoor winter charity event slash street festival is back for its 5th year. We prepped everyone for Mitten Fest last year, and Bay View’s favorite excuse to get cold and buzzing is even bigger this year. Come for the Brandyland Old Fashioneds, stay for the live music.

2) PANTS OFF DANCE OFF: Black and White Party Edition (21+)
Friday 02/03: Riverwest Public House Cooperative (Riverwest); 9pm – 2am (free)

If you love dancing but hate pants, the Riverewest Public House’s regular Pants Off Dance Off party is the place to be. Seriously: it’s “a body positive underwear dance party”. So strip down to your skivvies, make sure they’re your clean black or whites, and dance til you’re warm again. NO COVER / YES GLITTER

3) Spielmannszug Maskenball (all ages)
Saturday 02/04: Serb Hall (Lyons Park); 7pm – 11pm ($12)

Though hard to spell and pronounce, the Spielmannszug Milwaukee Drum and Bugle Corps are fun to listen to. This weekend they’re throwing a “German Mardi Gras” dinner and party at the one and only Serb Hall, where there will be prizes for best costumes and the entire “royal Mardi Gras” family. I have no idea what’s going on, but I’m having a great time.

NOT TO DO

1) Root for the Patriots in the Pooper Bowl

Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, OH. All photos by Joe Powell.

Yeah I get it we lost to the Falcons. No hair, don’t care: Tom Deflatey does not deserve another anything. He has enough. Here’s to good sportsball and funny commercials.
