1) Milwaukee Venetian Boat Parade (all ages)
Saturday 08/19: McKinley Marina (Lower East Side); 8pm – 10pm (free)

Perhaps the best-named group in Milwaukee, McBoat (McKinley Boat Owners Association), is throwing a big boat parade off the city’s other urban beach. But these aren’t just Bob’s fishing dingy: these boats will be decked out in decorations and lights, making for a magical evening on the water.

2) Indiafest Milwaukee 2017 (all ages)
Saturday 08/19: Humboldt Park (Bay View); 11am – 9pm (free)

Is there any better way to spend your sunny Saturday than with a steaming bowl of curry and a Bollywood-style dance party? Indiafest is also about “bridging (the) gap between India and US through Collaboration, Community and Culture”. Besides local politicians, Consulate General of India Ms. Neeta Bhushan will also be on hand to celebrate.

3) Cemetery Cinema Movie Night – Hocus Pocus (all ages)
Friday 08/18: Pinelawn Memorial Park (Grantosa); 7:30pm – 10:30pm (free)

I don’t care that it’s only August, deep in the dog-days of summer; Hocus Pocus is a year-round flick! This cult classic takes on a different feel when watched outside in a big cemetery. Insider’s tip: it’s a secret double feature, with The Goonies going on afterwards for you night owls!

1) Always drink beer

This sounds like an Onion article, but no: the original Most Interesting Man In The World (real name Jonathan Goldsmith) has stopped drinking Dos Equis and is now hocking Astral Tequila. What’s more, he’ll be pouring samples and taking pictures at our own Discount Liquor on Oklahoma this Saturday from 3-4:30.
