TO DO

1) 2017 Milwaukee Film Festival Program Book Release (all ages)
Saturday 09/02: Good City Brewing Company (Lower East Side); 12pm – 4pm (free)

We love the Milwaukee Film Festival (and their Membership Guru) and can’t wait for it to start up again this month. Naturally this major Milwaukee event needs a major Milwaukee brewery sponsor, and Good City Brewing Company certainly fits the bill. Join Milwaukee Film and Good City for a joint event, releasing both the festival program book as well as a MFF-branded Oktoberfest beer.

2) Third Ward Art Festival (all ages)
Saturday & Sunday 09/02-03: Historic Third Ward; 10am – 5pm (free)

The Historic Third Ward. All photo by Joe Powell for The Squeaky Curd.

Take a stroll through Milwaukee’s fashionable Third Ward, marveling at the local and national works of art (for sale) that vie for your eye along with the historic architecture lining each street. Whether you’re a collector or a serial browser, all are welcome (for free).

3) Hi Hat 20th Anniversary Block Party (all ages)
Saturday 09/02: Hi Hat on Brady (Lower East Side); 1pm – 10pm (free)

Hi Hat is almost old enough to drink their own highball cocktails, and it’s time to celebrate. They had me at “Old Fashioned contest.”

NOT TO DO

1) Have too much fun on Friday and Saturday to miss enjoying your whole long weekend.

Classic Joe Powell mistake.
