1) Harbor Fest (all ages)
Saturday 10/04: School of Freshwater Sciences (Harbor View); 11am – 4pm (free)

Milwaukee all of a sudden realized that we have a wonderful resource in our inner-harbor along the KK River, aka Harbor View, aka a formerly (and still kind of) industrial wasteland. But that’s all changing, and the innagural Harbor Fest this weekend is another step towards getting the public familiar with this unique area of our natural landscape. Fishing demos, bike tours, a boat parade, waterscape painting, and a pop-up container bar will be in attendance.

2) U.S. Bank Brady Street Pet Parade (all ages)
Sunday 10/08: Brady Street (Lower East Side); 11am – 5pm (free – $15)

We’re an equal-opportunity pet-loving city, so bring any and all little family member-creatures to Brady Street for their Pet Parade. Family-friendly fun, live music, and of course the pet costume contest, best tail wagging contest, pet/owner look alike contest, and human bark contest.

3) 19th Annual Milwaukee Empty Bowls Fundraiser (all ages)
Sunday 10/08: MSOE Kern Center (East Town); 11am – 2pm ($10-$25)

One of the bigger hunger-aid fundraisers in the city, Milwaukee Empty Bowls is back at MSOE this Sunday featuring their iconic, handcrafted bowls filled to the brim with an amazing list of supporting restaurants and their soups. You keep the bowls and full bellies, they keep helping out the hungry in our community.
