1) Beet Street 2017 (all ages)
Saturday 10/14: Goodkind (Bay View); 12pm – 6pm (free)

And the beet goes on. Last year’s mini-street fest, tucked into the northeast corner of Bay View, was a rousing success. This weekend, Beet Street is back with the local jams (edible and audible), as well as the 2nd Annual Great Midwestern Pie Championship at nearby Palomino Bar. Bundle up and boogie down.

2) Harvest Festival 2017 (all ages)
Saturday 10/14: Milwaukee Public Market (Third Ward); 11am – 4pm (free)

Milwaukee Public Market on the corner of Broadway and St Paul in colder months. All photos by Joe Powell for The Squeaky Curd unless otherwise noted.

Though the Milwaukee Public Market isn’t your traditional farmer’s market, we never say no to a harvest festival. Meet up outside on the southwest corner for FREE (*pumpkin) BEER, outdoor games, music, and fall noms.

3) Camel Burgers and Camel Rides (21+)
Saturday 10/14: Foolery’s Liquid Therapy (Oconomowoc); 12pm – 3pm (free)

I am so intrigued. Why does this bar on Okauchee Lake in Oconomowoc have a camel named Dooley? And why are they eating camel burgers (not associated with Dooley the Camel, so I’m told)? We may have to take a drive out of town to find out for ourselves.
