*Just in case you didn’t already have plans for the next few days (as if, you popular person, you), here’s your list of 3 things to do in Milwaukee this weekend…and 1 not to do.*

TO DO

1) Menomonee Valley Bourbon Release Party (21+)
Friday 11/11: Great Lakes Distillery (Walker’s Point); 7pm – 11pm

I and my fellow whiskey drinkers in Wisconsin have been waiting patiently literally for years for the state’s oldest distillery to release their fabled bourbon to the public. This Friday night, the wait is over.

7 years in the making, the Menomonee Valley straight bourbon will be available at the free party for around $80/bottle. With only 1010 bottles available, this “possibly…oldest craft whiskey in the US” will be hard to find outside of this night.

2) Trainfest (all ages)
Saturday & Sunday 11/12-13: Wisconsin State Fair Expo Center; 9am – 5pm

Billed as “America’s largest operating model railroad show”, this huge event celebrates the history, art, and hobby of model trains. Sure, there’ll be plenty of fun for the kids. But teens and adults will be enthralled by some of the complex engineering (no pun intended) designs. Tickets start at $12 for adults, $2 for kids.

3) The Last Maker Market EVER (all ages)
Saturday 11/12: Discovery World; 10am – 5pm

I can’t believe this is the final Maker Market ever (until someone inevitably revives it because…come on Milwaukee, these things are awesome!). This monthly local craft fair has been going strong for 4 years. If you’ve received a gift from me in the past, it has a 37% chance of having come from the Maker Market. Check out what your neighbors are making, pick up some early holiday gifts, and enjoy the beautiful Discovery World atrium area one last time.

NOT TO DO
