There’s no place like the Wisconsin Dells. The natural wonders on the Wisconsin River have been drawing residents for summertime fun for generations. It was only a matter of time until all necessities were available in town: those necessities being beer and pizza.

And moose cars.

And moose cars.

Wisconsin Dells Brewing Company opened up in 2005 sharing a space with Moosejaw Pizza. Named after a town in Canada that was rumored to be Al Capone’s source of booze for the Chicago market, the Moosejaw concept was developed as the “great idea of beer & pizza.” Over a decade later, just about everyone leaves town with one of their iconic moose antler hats.

You can feel the Canadian air.

The dining and bar space are obvious nods to the Canadian frontier namesake, and the gleaming brew kettles are visible from an upper floor.

Wisconsin Dells Brewing was one of the first and remains one of the only breweries in the state with a female head brewmaster. Rydge told us that she’s skilled in matching whatever flavor you’re looking for with the ingredients necessary for the brew. We did some research ourselves.

Although they’ve only been bottling and distributing their unpasteurized beer since 2011, Wisconsin Dells already has a defined branding and full-fledged lineup available locally for purchase.
