Greetings and Salutations my most humble Thursdians,

Come join us Thursday night as we celebrate good times and great tastes at Like Minds Brewing (823 E Hamilton St), which The Squeaky Curd coincidentally featured on their Great Wisconsin Brewery Tour just yesterday! Like Minds Brewing just opened in October, but in that short time, they have enriched Milwaukee with a full force of excellent beers and amazing food. They now have two locations, with the other in Chicago. The Chicago branch primarily focuses on retail packaging the staple beers and aging sours and wild yeast. The Milwaukee branch is where the true magic happens, as this is where experimentation meets our taste buds.

Rumor has it that the two founders of Like Minds, John and Justin, reached a point where they couldn’t come up with any new beer ideas for their Chicago brewery; they basically had the “writer’s block” of brewing, aka “brewer’s block”. They needed inspiration: something that would open their minds and set their creative tastes free.

Late one night, while they were pondering their next move, a bright light suddenly filled the room. An almost holy-like Will Farrell appeared! Shocked and uncertain, the Like Mind founders were speechless. Will Farrell extended his hands to reveal two glorious tallboy cans of greatness: Old Milwaukee. He told them, “Look not for what you seek in the blankness of thought, but search for what you want in the greatness of taste. Your destiny awaits you in the Cream City.” Before they could ask any questions, Will evaporated into thousands of flower petals. Rumor has it, this would be the inspiration of their first sour “Flora”.

With Old Milwaukee in hand, the two founders took that first sip and a thousand ideas came flowing into their heads. From there it was nothing but greatness: they opened their branch in the Cream City as the holy Will Farrell told them, they continued creating bold, new beers, and they started introducing their craft to the best beer drinkers around – Milwaukeeans. All of this is thanks to Old Milwaukee: the beer that keeps the light on and guides those in need. I look forward to seeing you all this Thursday!

Cheers my friends!

Your Founder and Friend,

Jeremy Blandin

More info to come…

*Keeping your glass filled and spirits high one Thursday at a time, this is Welcome to Thursdays: a local social group determined to make your Thursdays more fun.
