“With what power I have, I stand to protect the greatness of Old Milwaukee and all other true brews of an era long forgotten.” – Kempfo the Great (WTT Member #1)

Greetings and Salutations my Friends,

I want you to take a seat, take a deep breath, and realize just how lucky you are to be living in Milwaukee. Not only are we surrounded by music, amazing food, great people, and that oh-so-amazing social club, Welcome to Thursdays, but we the people of Milwaukee are fortunate enough to drink some of the greatest beers ever made. On the home front, we have classics like Schlitz, Pabst, Blatz, Red Dog, High Life, and the leader of them all (and my personal favorite) Old Milwaukee. Then we look to our neighbors for such classics like Old Style and Hamm’s. But why am I telling all of you this? You already knew this! There is always a reason my friends, and today’s is to inform you of this Thursday’s destination: The Bottle Milwaukee, or what most know it by, “The Bottle”.

Taking a step back in time, The Bottle is full of history that you can feel and see. Whether it’s the neighborhood that surrounds it, or the walls of the bar, this bar is in many ways a picture-perfect example of a Milwaukee bar. With a great selection of beer and amazing people, this Thursday night should be one to remember!

Most people don’t know the history behind The Bottle; well my friends, I am here to tell you that The Bottle is more than meets the eye. You see, there is a secret organization that meets to uphold the classiness and distinction of the world’s greatest beers. There is a secret so deep, that I had to take the oath of classiness to secure the story.

Now you are probably wondering how I heard about this. Well my friends, I am happy to say that Thursday’s very own Ryan Kempf is indeed the keeper of classiness and is actually a certified Guardian Angel of Beer. He has agreed to let the Thursdays Crew in on some of the secrets. From what I have learned, the Council of Classiness was formed when Ryan, or as the members call him “Kempfo the Great”, appeared and told of a future without the amazing beers you and I love. The group was so concerned, they formed the Council of Classiness to maintain the greatness of beers like Blatz, Pabst, Old Milwaukee and many many more. Ryan explained that in today’s world of craft beer, many are forgetting the beers that made this world so great; the beers that made the foundation to all the unique flavors we have today.

Unfortunately, I was not allowed to attend an actual meeting; but rumor has it that the entrance to the meeting space is behind the massive Schlitz mural on the wall at the Bottle. Apparently, there is a special password to get in. Maybe one day Kempfo the Great will tell us – but until that day, stay classy my fellow Thursdians.

Cheers!

Your Co-Founder and Friend,

Jeremy Blandin
