Greetings and Salutations My Thursday Night Family,

This week is a little different from others for Welcome to Thursdays. Gone is the dark and aged feeling of your standard Milwaukee dive. Enter a welcome class of elegance, aged with a sense of sophistication: Three Cellars – Oak Creek.  Just looking at the menu at Three Cellars you can tell that this Thursday will be unlike any other. In addition to wine & beer by the glass, they have a large selection of fine wines and craft beers to purchase to go; while browsing, one could easily get thirsty – Three Cellars has you covered on that end! Any beer or wine you see while looking can be chilled and opened to be enjoyed in their lounge or beer garden. Three Cellars can be found in two locations, Oak Creek and Menomonee Falls. This befuddled me: why are they called Three Cellars when only two can be found?

It was cold outside the night I started my search, winter’s bite grasped onto me with a hungering force and as I trudged on, questions filled my head. Was there ever a third cellar? Is it still around? What are they trying to hide? As I started my research I knew something was askew. No historical documents point to a previous third, and every time I try to find an answer I get denied. When asking my Milwaukee sources about it, they simply told me to not trifle in things out of my reach. So I sat staring out my window into the Milwaukee night sky, the Allen Edmonds billboard shining bright as if it was a beacon of hope. I sat wondering if I would ever find the answer.

It was in this moment of pondering that I fell into a state of dormancy, only to be awoken by a subtle knock on my window. To my surprise, I was greeted by a gnome that was, in simple terms, a bit sloshed. He said nothing and simply stumbled onto my desk. He did his best to look at me with both eyes and handed me a glowing cube. As I grabbed the cube, a rather bright beam of light shot from the cube onto my ceiling revealing a map of the stars. There were so many, and I had no idea what it meant – but  then, the map focused on one specific star, revealing the galaxy, then earth, then Wisconsin. The map refocused all the way down to a map of Milwaukee.

Sloshed and barely able to walk, the gnome simply said, “Your search begins here, seek the truth and find the third cellar…” He then snapped his fingers and disappeared. Looking closer at the map, some specific locations were blinking. I did a quick Google Maps search which revealed they were all Milwaukee County bars & lounges… bars and lounges that happen to be the next few stops for Welcome to Thursdays. Mysterious!

All I can do is keep digging – if not for me then for you, the readers. No matter what happens, I can guarantee you that I will be out this Thursday enjoying a cold glass of something tasty searching for more answers.

Cheers My Friends!
