The historic Menomonee Valley in Milwaukee has been home to heavy industries for over a century, and (with a few exceptions) has not been a destination for everyday people. With half-mile bridges spanning the low-lying land, most Milwaukeeans fly over the old warehouses without a second thought. A new brewery, however, is establishing a destination for locals to gather besides work or home.

Third Space Brewing took one of these old industrial complexes and converted it into your new man cave. Outside, hidden from the street, is probably the largest bier garden in the city.

Inside, the heavy woods and metals help tie the space to its roots.

It’s a big place with plenty of room for even bigger plans. Co-owner and brewer, Kevin, explained how he brought his 6 years of professional California brewing experience back to his hometown:

“I wanted to create this West Coast concept meets Midwest drinkability. Big, bold flavors that you can have a pint of.”

That’s Gold Kölsch
A dry, nosey light beer.

Happy Place Midwest Pale Ale
Classic, easy-drinking pale ale that leans hoppy.

Acres Edge Toasted Oatmeal Stout
Coffee notes in a “whelming” (not over nor under) beer.

Upward Spiral IPA
A fruitier, more sunshine-y hop taste.

Mocha Java Porter
Beer, it’s not just for breakfast anymore. But this one is.

Unite The Clans Scottish Rye Ale
Buttery and rich. I could curl up with a few of these.

Happy Happy Double IPA
A sharp hop attack followed by a smooth finish.

Liquid Layers Spiced Barley Wine
Spicy, like drinking a Christmas store.

“We have to make our beer ‘more-ish’.”

Translation, more-ish: to make beer that patrons demand “more” of. This is the driving force behind what makes Third Space Brewing a popular new destination in the Valley, and what will propel them to their goal of becoming a mainstay in the Midwest Brewing scene.
