This is a map made to show all of the breweries in Wisconsin. You can follow along on our #GreatWisconsinBreweryTour journey here and by seeing the green-marked breweries below that we’ve already visited.

Breweries: brew their own beer, often with tap rooms or tours on-site. Their beer can be found elsewhere as well.

Brew Pubs: brew their own beer and also prepare their own food in-house. Sometimes (but not always) their beer can be found elsewhere.

Contract Brewing: may not brew their own beer. These are companies that have developed their own recipes but have them brewed by others or do not allow visitors to their brewery.

If you find any errors in the above map, or would like to notify us of one we’ve missed, please leave that information in a comment below. We will delete the comment once we’ve verified the information and made the change.

    1. Ralph, thanks for the input. Parched Eagle is under Brew Pubs. Hydro Street closed a couple of months ago, though there’s talk of them reopening nearby sometime.

      1. There is a category on the Map Legend for Brew Pubs. They are Yellow if I haven’t visited them before, and Green if I have.

  1. Hello Squeaksters, We wanted to inform you that Urban Harvest Brewing Company has left the ranks of “Opening Soon” and opened our doors for business last weekend. Our best seller so far has been our 414 Golden Ale and to celebrate Milwaukee Day 4/14, we will be open tomorrow Thursday 4/14 and will be offering $4 pints of the 414. Our schedule has us brewing tomorrow and finish time on that has been a bit of an unknown. We’ll have the doors open at 5:00, but could be earlier. Stop by and check out Milwaukee’s new Nanobrewery.

    1. Awesome! Glad to hear it, we’ve been anxiously awaiting your arrival for quite some time. Good to know about your special for Milwaukee Day; we’ll add it to our own list of to-do’s for our readers which will come out tomorrow. The Great Wisconsin Brewery Tour will surely be stopping by soon, as well.

  2. This map is awesome! There are a few changes you may want to do. Keep up the good work!!

Fixture Brewing Co is now closed – http://www.wisn.com/article/popular-waukesha-brewpub-served-with-search-warrant/6331285
Bent Kettle Brewing Company has opened a taphouse. – http://bentkettle.com/taproom/

Nicolet Brewing Company Closed – https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/790/
Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company – Milwaukee https://www.facebook.com/pages/Leinenkugels-10th-Street-Brewery/148797491838506
Rock County Brewing just opened – https://www.rockcounty.beer/brewery-news/id/10/were-open

Also, all of the Great Dane and Water Street Brewery’s location brew beer on site making them all Brewpubs.

    1. Jason, thank you so much for the response! You’re updates have been added to the map; we hadn’t even heard of Inventors yet! When it comes to multiple locations, we only count the main or original one (for Leinie’s and Great Dane and Water Street). Saves us some time 😉

      1. Besides us visually seeing the brewing equipment in a state of operation, our waiter also told us that brewing occurs at the Eastside location still today. Thanks!

      2. They (Great Dane – Eastside) weren’t brewing there last year when I visited (don’t recall what month, but probably May or August); they were getting all their beer from the Hilldale location. If they’re brewing now, I may have to stop in again, though hopefully the construction around there is much reduced…

      3. I just got a response back to a Facebook message, and they say “We brew onsite at all Great Dane locations with the exception of the East side-Jupiter Drive Dane”. Were you thinking the main one, on Doty, was the “Eastside” location when I mentioned it? It’s odd that they’d tell you they were brewing at the Jupiter Drive location when I’ve been told twice that they weren’t. Or perhaps they were brewing during your visit but before mine?!?

      4. Russ, I mistakenly thought you were referring to the Doty location. This was the location that we visited on the Great Wisconsin Brewery Tour. We have not visited the Jupiter Drive location before. Thanks!

  3. Do you have Sawmill Brewing from Wasau on your list? I searched for it but could not find it. I recently visited and I highly recommend it.

  4. On Feb 6 of this year, I messaged Lungbuster on Facebook, and the answer was “right now just a local home brewer trying to get the name out there and hopefully open a small facility in the future.”

    1. Deanna, according to the NBWA, as of 12/31/2016 there were 217 permitted breweries in Wisconsin. That does not mean that there were 217 open; just that the state had granted that many licenses. Obviously 2017 saw even more get licensed and open, so my guess is there are around 250 permitted breweries (or more), with around 215 operating in some capacity. https://www.nbwa.org/resources/industry-fast-facts

  5. Great map! Bill from Some Nerve Brewing in Manitowish Waters here. Just wanted to let you know that we did indeed open in June (6/22/18 to be exact). It’s been going great and we are having a blast! We currently have 7 of our beers on tap and will be brewing #8 next week. Proud to say we’re the number one brewery in Western Vilas County LOL! Come visit us in the Northwoods!

    1. Hey Steve, we actually visited in the original Vintage Brewing in Madison a while back (https://www.thesqueakycurd.com/gwbt-37-vintage-brewing-company/). Many breweries are opening up satellite locations across the state. Sometimes we’ll add these to the map if they’re radically different (for example: Door County Brewing in Bailey’s Harbor is opening a taproom for their Hacienda Brewing offshoot in Milwaukee, which we’ll add), but often times we won’t. Thanks for the tip, though! Keep’m coming.

    1. Not as frequently as it once did. I haven’t written a new article since the summer, but I do update the Brewery Map about once a month (more often if I get recommendations). Thanks for continuing to read!

    1. Yellow are Brew Pubs, Pink are Breweries without food, Blue are Contract Brewers. Green could be any of the three, but indicates that we have visited it for the Great Wisconsin Brewery Tour.

  6. Found a new brewery this weekend not on your map. Peach Barn Brewery in Sister Bay WI. Very good brewery and only 2 months old.

  7. Make sure to add Bevy Brewery and Winery in Wisconsin Dells! We’re located in the former Port Huron Brewing Company facility, brewing all of our own beer, wine, cider, mead, and soda on-site. Our tasting room is open with the self-service tap wall and the Bevy team here to teach everyone about our products!

  8. Need to add a new brewery in Richfield, WI:
    Belshire Brewing
    1923 Hwy 175
    Richfield, WI 53076
    262 623-6700

  9. Need to add another Wisconsin Brewery:
    Craft Creek Brewing Company
    220 N. 9th Street
    Manitowoc, WI 54220

  10. New brewery in Kimberly called Timber Tap Brewery. They have 5 of their own brews now and their Oktoberfest is one of the best I’ve ever had.
