TO DO

1) TubaChristmas 2018 (all ages)
Saturday 12/15: The Bavarian Bierhaus (Glendale); 11am – 4pm (free)

You might already be getting sick of the constant holiday songs rotating on the radio this season, so mix it up a bit this Saturday with your favorite Christmas carols done completely on tubas. It’s TubaChristmas! You can either participate (for $10) or observe (for free) while enjoying the decorated grand hall and fresh beer at The Bavarian Bierhaus.

2) Waffles and Metal Stamping (all ages)
Saturday 12/15: Hawthorne Coffee Roasters (Town of Lake); 10am – 2pm (free)

All photos by Joe Powell for The Squeaky Curd.

The local coffee roasters at Hawthorne are inviting friends in from Milwaukee Blacksmith to show off their handmade holiday gift ideas for sale, as well as Belgian waffles from food truck Press. Don’t ask how it all fits together; just ask why you wouldn’t want to go.

3) Candlelight Walk 2018 (all ages)
Saturday 12/15: Urban Ecology Center (Riverside Park); 4:30pm – 9pm ($14)

Celebrate the longest night of the year with a winter stroll through one of Milwaukee’s only urban forests. Guides will take visitors through Riverside Park, with stops for readings and poetry and hot drinks.

NOT TO DO

1) Doubt a Powell’s (or Kuemmel’s) love for Christmas cut-out cookies

Katie and Baby P icing the cookies shortly before I dropped them all on the floor. And then ate them off the floor.
