Greetings and Salutations,

This week we travel to a personal favorite: Drink Wisconsinbly Pub, a spot that reminds you that we live in the best state in the USA. Boasting over 30 Wisconsin beers that include such greats like Miller Highlife, Old Milwaukee, and Schlitz, Drink Wisconsinbly is not afraid of reminding you where you are. More little reminders cover the walls throughout the pub, and the atmosphere is one of comfort and relaxation.

It’s not all beer though, they also have one heck of a menu with Wisco classics like amazing curds, a daily fish fry (yes, I said daily) and much, much more. If culture is something you need to spice up your life than look no further than Welcome to Thursdays this week!

Speaking of culture, I forgot the best part of this establishment – their amazing cocktail list full of great classics. I always look for a few things when diving into what makes a cocktail great: presentation, flavor, and creativity. But, Drink Wisconsinbly decided to up the ante on me and added distribution to that list as well. You see their Soul Boxer Bubbler Old Fashioned has all the makings of a fantastic drink, served right out of a bubbler. You read that right folks, a bubbler that spouts deliciousness right into your glass. I seriously can’t wait to have another this Thursday!

As stated last week, I recently moved and am now a proud East Sider. With that comes a new apartment with unfamiliar surroundings. On Friday I was in a tense online discussion of the ideologies of Shrek with some Hungarian political officials when I realized I put the heat on a little too high. Deciding to take a break, I went out to my balcony to cool off a bit and I shut the door behind me – not realizing that it was locked from the inside. I was trapped, no phone, no keys, and too high off the ground to possibly make the jump. My only source of help was my voice and with no one around to hear it, I was helpless. My only chance for help was to wait for someone to return to my complex and park in the lot.

Seconds turned to minutes, minutes to hours. It was a cloudy, chilly night and as time went on, the bite of the air grew more apparent down to the bone. Through the window off my balcony, I could see the brand new bottle of High Life I had pulled out of my fridge, drops of condensation falling down the side as if it was crying for being left unconsumed.

Suddenly, the clouds cleared and just like the legend, Miller’s Girl on the Moon appeared perched high in the sky. She looked at me with the warmest eyes one could imagine on a chilled October night and I found a new sense of purpose and hope. It was then that a car approached my lot and the lovely Shannon from the fourth floor of my building came to my rescue.

After thanking Shannon for calling my brother for help, I looked up at the moon and the lady was gone.  Looking back down at Shannon, she winked, took a drink from a bottle of High Life, and disappeared. You better believe I’ll be raising a High Life to the moon at Drink Wisconsinbly this Thursday.

Cheers!

Your Co-Founder and Friend,

Jeremy Blandin
