Greetings and Salutations,

Well, my friends despite how great last weekend was, the opposite has occurred this weekend: the Bucks lost and are out of the playoffs and the Brewers got swept under the doormat of the Cubs. Yes, it was a tough week in sports for Milwaukee but that’s part of what makes sports so great – its all about the thrill of the ride. One week you could be on cloud nine and the very next you could be in the slumps. What’s your favorite moment in sports? What moments do you remember the most? How about you come on down to the SportClub and talk about it this Thursday!

SportClub is Milwaukee’s newest and hottest sports bar with plenty of TVs to catch all of your sporty goodness. SportClub has a wide variety of drinks ranging from craft cocktails to a rather large list of champagnes! They also have 30 different beers on tap. You see, one of the main objectives the owners set out to achieve with this new sports bar is to truly grasp the feelings, emotions, sights, sounds, and even tastes of what it is to be a fan of sports. Why not come out and experience this with Welcome to Thursdays! Going to a sporting event can be fun, but going to one with friends is even better.

When I first heard about SportClub I simply thought of it as another sports bar – which is never a bad thing, but it didn’t do anything to shock me. These thoughts changed instantly when I did a little digging and found the true heart and soul of the SportClub. You see, we all know about your usual suspects when it comes to sports: football, baseball, basketball, soccer (aka, futbol). These are on sports bar screens nearly 24/7 – and there is nothing wrong with that. But SportClub’s ambition is different: they want to expose the world to a few lesser-known sports.

Ever heard of fireball soccer? How about Red Bull Flugtag? You must have heard of the Giant Pumpkin Regatta, right? SportClub strives to embrace all sports and wants you to as well. I was inspired by this and decided to look into a different lesser-known sport: The Beer Mile.

Check out these ballsy kids playing fireball soccer.

I absolutely hate running, and will do anything not to do it; but I also love beer, and will do anything just to have it! So when you combine the two, it turns into this perfect love/hate relationship. The objective is simple: complete four laps as quickly as possible ending each lap with the chugging of one ice, cold beer. A challenge full of flavor and misery. I better start training.

Cheers!
